Our Partners
Currently, the Department of Media and Communication (DMC) at the Royal University of Phnom Penh receives support from international partners, including funding and technical assistance from Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Cambodia, GIZ Cambodia (Civil Peace Service), and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD Lectureship Cambodia). The Department expresses its sincere thanks to these partners for their invaluable cooperation in creating a positive impact at DMC over the past 24 years and beyond.
Institutional Growth
Over the years, DMC has grown from offering solely an undergraduate course in media and communication into a dynamic institute engaged in teaching, research, and social initiatives. The Department combines a balanced mix of local and international educators and regularly produces publications, organizes workshops and professional development programs for media and communication practitioners, supporting ethical and socially responsible practices across the sector.
International Initiatives
Recently, DMC has strengthened its international collaboration through initiatives such as the Erasmus+ project “Sustainable Development Goals in Journalism Reporting (SDGsJR),” involving universities in Cambodia, Malaysia, China, and European partners from Spain, Luxembourg, and Romania. In addition, collaboration with UNESCO Cambodia has led to the development of the Gender-Sensitive Safety Guidelines for Cambodian media and the Digital, Media, and Information Literacy (DMIL) Toolkit for climate reporting. These initiatives bring together students, journalists, and professionals to promote ethical practices, evidence-based reporting, and media literacy, reinforcing DMC’s role as an institute for professional and international engagement in media and communication.
