Q1: What is DMC?
A1: The Department of Media & Communication (DMC) is the first academic institution in Cambodia to provide students with specialized training in communication, journalism, and media. Students who graduate from this department will receive the Bachelor of Arts in Media Management.
Q2: How does the program taught at the DMC look like?
A2: The four-year program at DMC is designed to train students for various professions within the mass media sector. Students are taught a broad range of media-related academic disciplines to gain a solid understanding of variety of perspective on media environments. The course prepares students to be the standard bearers of the media profession.
Q3: What is the medium language of instruction at the DMC?
A3 English is used as the medium language of instruction at the DMC. All applicants are advised to have good command of English to understand the complexity of the lessons and to be able to communicate with foreign professors.
Q4: How many students will be admitted to the DMC each year?
A4: 30 students will be admitted to the DMC scholarship after they have successfully passed the entrance exam.
Q5: What should I know about the entrance exam?
A5: The applicants are to go through 2 examinations:
- Written examination on English language, media issue (in English) and general knowledge and Khmer culture (in Khmer).
- Those who succeed the written exam are then invited for oral interview.
The process of filling and submitting the application form will mostly begin in August.
Q6: Will there be age limitation for scholarship applicants?
A6: The DMC scholarship grantee must be under the age of 23. The scholarship is open to all those who hold a high school certificate, and have a strong commitment in media and communication.
