    Project Three 2017

    Produced in 2017 by Batch 14 students of the Department of Media and Communication (DMC) of Royal University of Phnom Penh; these documentaries are part of their Video Production class. The eight documentaries focus on social and development issues in Cambodia.

    Project Three 2017 – Intro Video

    Title: A Shot A Change

    Synopsis: The devotion of a man who hopes to change the fate of the birds in Cambodia by taking photographs.

    Producers: Chin Sreyleap, Mech Sereyrath, Sam Tola

    Title: EverGreen

    Synopsis: Long Lipo fights to improve education in his community in Stung Treng province by creating a school that provides free English lessons and free food for poor students.

    Producers: Keo Theasrun, Por Kimhok, San Bunsim

    Title: Bassac Under the Sunlight

    Synopsis: Sorn Kea is one of the few artists who still practice Bassac theater art. Despite the danger of being forgotten Lakhon Bassac faces, Kea is very passionate about what he does and still refuses to give it up – even if he has to work another job to feed himself.

    Title: Barely a Trace

    Synopsis: A beach whose stunning glamour has the potential to attract tourists in Kep has lacked protection and development. Now, it is seeing some light as the sites around the province are getting more and more popular.

    Title: Ghost of Me

    Synopsis: The suicide rate in Cambodia is on the rise, and yet Cambodia still lacks mental health services and education in psychology. Ghost of Me is a short documentary film about a young woman who has been struggling with anxiety, and has tried to reduce her mental distress by hurting and attempting to kill herself since she was a 9-year-old girl.

    Title: Drop of Water

    Synopsis: Three years in a row award-winning author, Chin Meas, is struggling with having little time to write because he has to do extra job in order to provide for his family.

    Title: Goodbye My School

    Synopsis: Yeang Dongkum Obey Choan secondary school has a high dropout rate. Students drop out of school and emigrate to work in Thailand. Vanny is a drop-out and now she is working in Thailand. She shares her story about why she and other students make the decision to leave Cambodia.

    Title: That One Memory

    Synopsis: A mother and daughter’s trip into the past creates a reflection on how important it is to have a deep conversation between older and younger generation specifically on the matter of Cambodian historical event, Khmer Rouge.
